First Friday
Celebrate First Friday in May with Spirit at Play, a non-profit preschool serving the Missoula community for over twenty years. Please join us for our Second Annual Spirit at Play Art Show and Silent Auction. This family-friendly event features artwork of local artists and children. In addition to live music, kids’ activities, and food there will be a fantastic silent auction filled with gifts and services donated by local businesses. The Art Show and Silent Auction is the perfect place to pick up a unique gift in time for Mother’s Day, graduation, or other special events and you’ll be helping Spirit at Play keep our tuition affordable to Missoula-area families. Spirit At Play
Is a premiere Missoula area preschool with an emphasis on sustainability, in addition to the fun and exciting learning and play time (both structured and unstructured). The benefits of recycling and composting are encouraged, with a goal of minimizing waste are concepts that factor into our curriculum. In fact, we have achieved the Champion status, the highest level available, with the Montana Sustainable Business Council in their Strive Towards Sustainability program by demonstrating significant integration of environmental and social sustainability practices throughout the organization.

Our regular 2011-2012 school year will end on Friday, June 8. The summer session will begin on Monday, June 13 and will end on Tuesday, August 23. (We will be closed for curriculum planning from Wednesday, August 24 to Friday, August 26.) Children from age 3 through 9 may attend the summer session. It is always nice to have our alumni students back for the summer!
You will often see our little yellow vests roaming and exploring our community. From field trips to the university, to outings along the Clark Fork river, our little learners like to get out & about!
About Us
Established in 1991, Spirit At Play Early Child Program in Missoula, Montana is more than just a child care facility or preschool. Spirit At Play offers a comprehensive kindergarten readiness program for toilet-trained children between the ages of 3-6 years during the school term, as well as a fun and active program for children up to age 9 during the summer session.
The staff at Spirit At Play strive to follow the National Association for the Education of Young Children's (NAEYC) guidelines for high quality early childhood programs. In 2010, we were honored to be chosen to participate in the Stars to Quality incentives program. This wonderful program has helped fund several projects at Spirt At Play.
