My name is Irene Tiefenthaler and I am so excited to be joining Spirit At Play this year! I have been a Director of another Early Education program in Missoula for eight years. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Communication, and a certificate in Early Childhood Education. Currently, I am attending the University of Montana working on a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Advanced Early Childhood Education. I am also the local chapter president for the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children).
I am excited to work at Spirit at Play, a program that shares my philosophy of allowing a child to explore and learn through play! This is such a magical time in a child’s life and it is important to meet them where they are and show them that the sky is the limit. Children are my passion!
In my personal life, I have been married to Robert, who is a computer programmer, for over 25 years. I am the mother of three adult children, Mandy a 4th grade teacher in Arizona, Robin a senior studying Kinesiology at MSU, and Josh a Junior at U of M majoring in Computer Science. I have two Miniature Schnauzers Bella and Baron. I love spending time with my family, genealogy, and traveling. I am looking forward to working with Spirit at Play and sharing my love of children with the program!
