Hi!
I am a lead teacher in the 3 year old class here at Spirit
At Play. I have spent most of my life around children in
one form or another, but the preschool setting has been new to
me. I have to say, I love it! Most days I feel the
children teach me more than I could possibly teach them.
They have so much to offer the world, and I am honored to be a
part of their discovery of this life. My job has become
the highlight of my day!
I
was born and raised on the east coast until I found Montana to
be my true home. I moved here 6 years ago after spending
several summers here. I have been to many places on this
earth and still haven't found anywhere quite as
remarkable. I spent an amazing year living on a sailboat
with my parents and traveling the east coast. As an only
child, it required quite an imagination to fill hours of time
miles from shore! That year instilled in me a desire to
see as much of the world as possible. My travels to
Europe, Mexico, and the Islands have only increased my desire to
see the world. I am hoping to backpack around New Zealand
next summer. We can learn so much from other cultures. My
goal in life is to constantly keep expanding my horizons, and
one of my favorite ways is spending time with children.
They are a continual source of joy to me. I have been a
personal nanny several times. The one-on-one experience of
getting to know a child is invaluable. I have also worked
with learning disabled children, helping them to overcome the
challenges life has given them. It was truly inspiring to
watch those children blossom. Daycare is also on my list
of experiences. As wonderful as that facility was, I never
felt that the children were being challenged or given the chance
to grow as human beings. That is one of the reasons I am
so excited to be at Spirit At Play. I have always felt
that adults can learn as much from children as they learn from
us, if not more. I look forward to the education that I
will receive, as well as give, at Spirit At Play.
